Steve McQueen
Lifetime Member
Steve McQueen - Lifetime Member The name "Steve McQueen" is legendary worldwide. In his short life, Steve made a name for himself as "The King of Cool." His screen credits are extremely extensive, such as: The Magnificient Seven (1960), The War Lover (1962), The Great Escape (1963), The Sand Pebbles (1966), Nevada Smith (1966), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), and his signature megahit, Bullitt (1968). There are so many more wonderful classic films that Steve starred in, but we do not have the space to list them.

Tonight, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the breakout role that made Steve a household name; the 1958-1961 television show, Wanted: Dead or Alive. The show centered on the character, John Randall, a bounty hunter unlike any other. He had an uncanny way of pursuing lawbreakers, and showed his compassion as well. Some of the episodes had nothing to do with bad guys. One such episode had child actor, Jay North (Dennis the Menace) hire Josh to find Santa Claus in the hopes of Santa bringing a rifle to the boy's father for Christmas. The boy only had 12ยข to pay for Josh's service. Of course, Josh found Santa.

The president of the Reel Cowboys is deeply honored to bestow the Silver Spur Award for this wonderful man, STEVE MCQUEEN.
