Jack’s father was a 2 star General in the Air Force stationed at the Pentagon and his mother taught speech to impaired children.
Jack Gill has created some of the movie industries' most memorable action sequences. He directed the ACTION unit and was the action coordinator on blockbuster movies such as Jumanji (2017) Fate of the Furious (2017) Furious 7, Ride Along, Ride Along 2, Fast Five, The Hangover Part III, Date Night, Wild Hogs, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Showtime, Money Train, and many more. As a stuntman, he has jumped cars and motorcycles through walls of wood, glass and flame. On Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard, he has taken falls from buildings as high as twelve stories, and jumped from exploding boats, mountain tops, and has even flown through the air hanging from helicopter struts: streaking through the sky in the F-16 Fighter aircraft.
Jack is a past President of Stunts Unlimited, a member of the Directors Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and has been nominated, and won, many Action awards over the past years. He has been fighting to create an Action Oscar category for the last 28 years and was one of the first stuntmen inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science in 1991.
“The Reel Cowboys congratulate Jack Gill for his much deserved 2019 Silver Spur Award.”
