The Nooseletter
Vol. 4 - No.10 October, 2022 Nooseletter Home SUBMIT AN ARTICLE
Welcome to October everybody. We are quickly approching my favorite time of the year, Christmas. But first, we get to celebrate Thanksgiving, and that is my second favorite holiday, mostly because of the stuffing (both the noun and the verb).

We have some wonderful articles this month. Lee Diebold donated our Featured Article, which is one that was written about him in 1986. Another one is based on a letter that my wife, found in the attic. This the only place ont he entire internet that you will see these two stories.

Next month, and hopefully many months to follow, we will have a new section called "Following Frank & Seza" in which we show pictures of the places that these two Reel Cowboys visit around our beautiful country.

Lastly, I want to officially announce our "Reel Cowboys Streaming service." You may have noticed a new menu button on the left of this site that says "Cowboy Channel." Just click on it and see what happens. Check back often to see if any new channels show up. Note: Some of these channels are free to watch and others have a subscription cost.

FEATURED ARTICLE
He Learned His Craft Diving From Area Piers
~Kimberly Durment [1986]
Let's travel back in time to 1986. This article was written about our very own Reel Cowboy, Lee Diebold, by Kimberly Durment, and published on August 13th, 1986 in the Gardena Tribune Newspaper.

Long before Lee Diebold of Gardena got his big break doing stunts at the Corriganville Movie Ranch in Simi Valley, California, he was busy learning his craft by diving from South Bay area piers. Now a professional stuntman, Diebold, 49, recently finished work on "Terror on Alcatraz," a horror film die for release later this month. In the film, Diebold takes a backward fall...

CHRONICLES OF THE OLD WEST
Politician Custer
~Dakota Livesay
George Armstrong Custer had political ambitions... all the way up to the Presidency. But, he approached politics the way he did a battle... he attacked.

There was probably no more paradoxical character than George Armstrong Custer. He was always in the front of his troops in battle. Away from the battlefield he was a strutting peacock. He could kill a man without a thought, but he would risk his...

Kankakee County to Nebraska
~Provided by Elaine Diane Scott
An uneasy few families in the beautiful state of Illinois, Kankakee County, not far from Gardener, a small town, not far from the noted city of Chicago. The little town of Gardener, 12 miles from a community of neighbors, spoken of at the beginning of these noted circumstances Joseph Milligan, my...
Winnemucca Bank Robbery
~Ghosttown Bob Goodwin
Since this is the 122nd anniversary of the Winnemucca Bank Robbery committed by "Butch" Cassidy, Harry Longabaugh (The Sundance Kid), and Will Carver I thought I would repost this from my earlier post on the robbery. Winnemucca Bank Robbery. As told by one who should know. A member of the gang and...
