Barry's full given name is Leonard Barrie Corbin, and he was born on October 16, 1940 in Lamesa, Texas. Barry has a daughter named Shannon Ross, with whom he shares his 15-acre ranch in Fort Worth, Texas, when he isn't working. He says that he rides horses there every chance he gets.

Barry is a very talented actor who is known for his role as Ellis in No Country for Old Men (2007), and Maurice Minnifiend in the Northern Exposure TV series (1990-1995). However, it is his work in western film and tv that brings him to the Silver Spur Award Show. Barry Corbin has done fantastic work in Crossfire Trail (2001), the Dallas TV Series (2013), The Homesman (2014), Hope Ranch (2002), The Journeyman (2001), Lonesome Dove, The Magnificient Seven TV Series (1998), Monte Walsh (2003), The Ranch TV series (2016-2017), and Siringo (1995).
